DTG T-Shirt Printing:  Artwork Guidelines

The print quality of direct to garment t-shirt print depends on the quality of the digital art.  The better the art -- the better the print.  Below are guidelines to consider when designing and submitting artwork for DTG printing.

How to determine GOOD artwork quality:

  • Adjust the image to the actual print size.
  • View the image at 100% zoom.
  • The way the image appears at this size and resolution reflects how the DTG print will look.
  • The edges don't have to be perfectly smooth like the 'good' example below, but if the edges are heavily pixelated like in the 'bad' example, this will result in poor print qualty.

Image Vectorizing Service

Image vectorizing is the process of taking NON-DIGITAL ART (such as a photograph or drawing) or LOW QUALITY DIGITAL ART (art that is pixelated, too small, or too low of a resolution) and recreating it into digital vector art that is cleaned up and can be resized to any size without affecting the image quality.
